Program Guide

The Wheeling Park District’s Program Guide was previously developed by an external Graphic Designer. For the Spring & Summer 2020, the Wheeling Park District decided to create their Program Guide in-house. In collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team, I designed the current Park District’s Program Guide lay-out and template.

My roles in this project:

  • Over several weeks, worked on designing a reusable template using Adobe InDesign.
  • Provided 95% of all photographic content used in the Program Guide.
  • Updated the design while keeping the new brand and identity.
  • Communicated directly with the printing press; responsible for correctly formatting all texts, colors, and images sent to print.
  • Kept and maintain all files organized.

Newsletters

The already existing Active Adults Newsletters was our most popular quarterly newsletter. We wanted to create a better look so we developed the Stay Active Newsletter with an improved design and larger fonts.

This quarterly Newsletter was very successful in  bringing seniors to our parks and events promoted in the Stay Active Monthly Scoop.

Because of the success of the Stay Active and the Stay Active Monthly Scoop Newsletters, we decided to create more newsletters based on age groups (preschool, teen, adults and seniors).

My roles in this project:

  • Produced the Stay Active Monthly Scoop and Quarterly newsletters.
  • Redesigned and modernized the layout of the Active Adults Newsletter.
  • Updated the newsletter based on the information and text provided by the Copywriter.

The Wheeling Park District website was built under the Links Technology platform and the Wheeling Health and Fitness Center site was developed in house using WordPress.

My roles as a Web Designer:

  • Updated the Wheeling Park District’s page with new events and promo material using the Links Technology Platform.
  • Builded the new Wheeling Health and Fitness Center in collaboration with the Supt. of Marketing and Communications utilizing WordPress.
  • Edited several pictures to match the style and look of the new Wheeling Health and Fitness Center.

This version of the website it is similar than the one I was working on, but it is not the same.

Photographer & Videographer

As a Photographer and Videographer, I produced and edited quality photography and video content of events, programs, promotional materials and training videos.

My roles as a Photographer & Videographer:

Banner & Large Format Printer

The Wheeling Park District have plotters, vinyl cutters and other large format printers to print signs, window clings, stickers for A-frames and banners.

There are 6 different roadside banner frames spreading around Wheeling that we had to constantly change (mainly with upcoming events). Other common places to hang sings/banners are the Gymnasium and the Aquatic Center fence where we placed 28 ft long banners.

My role in this project:

  • Designed and saved files for printing output (banners, A-frames, window clings, sings, etc.).
  • Completed full production of all banners and large print materials.
  • Placed and removed banners, A-frames and window clings throughout the facilities.
